Graphic Design
We can design anything from a custom icon to a complete corporate identity. Our portfolio contains numerous examples across many disciplines. Common sense dictates a lot, but inevitably there comes a point where any judgement of design becomes subjective. We have never disagreed with a client about their perception of taste. We'll argue about other things, but never that. Screen Design
We believe that bespoke software can choose embrace the opportunity to provide a unique look and feel. Whilst there are countless conventions it would be foolish to abandon entirely, there is nonetheless room to create an environment that reflects individual corporate style. Unless you prefer it, there is no good reason to adopt an entirely utilitarian design style. There's no need to work exclusively in grayscale, nor is there anything that forces you irrevocably to follow precisely every single aspect of the interface guidelines for any one single operating system - and in any case, if you need something that is cross platform this will become impossible. The point is that there's always room for creative design provided that it is led primarily by principles of functionality and that unwarranted indulgence is never allowed free rein. But that doesn't mean that the odd flourish has no place - Everything needs some balance and there's more to life than living in white rooms with white furnishings. Electronic Stationary
Companies often spend thousands of pounds on their printed stationary, but fail to take advantage of all the possibilities when they update to computers. This may in part be due to a skill gap between typographic designers and those who can create smart forms and e-Stationary. It's also worth bearing in mind that because electronic stationary doesn't get printed unless used, there's every reason to consider having many more purpose-designed items. The possibilites are endless but BabelFix can often produce them very quickly and inexpensively. Logo Styles
One of the consequences of easily accessible desk top publishing is that almost anyone can do something that looks quite good. And whilst there's absolutely nothing wrong with this, there is often room for occasionally dramatic improvement. A skilled designer with a greater range of tools and fonts can bring a lot to the party, and it costs nothing to ask for an opinion. Advanced Output
Part of our work at BabelFix is to produce tools that manage data. And a good part of that is presentation in the way it looks when printed. Laying out reports from telephone books to invoices so that they are simple to follow and professional in their appearance is perhaps a small thing, but one that we take pride in. Wider resources on tap
Though we do almost all of our graphic design in-house, for advanced print output like quality publications we still maintain a long association with Mark Smith, one of Europe's finest and most talented typographers and packaging designers.
