Systems Analysis

Understanding our clients' businesses inside out involves looking in detail at production and management practices, logistics and systemic infrastructure. But if our ideas can't be simply expressed in straightforward plain English, and if we can't come up with something intuitive enough that its users will already find it kind of familiar, then we'll be pretty disappointed.

At BabelFix we don't actually do all that much systems analysis - at least not in front of our clients in an academic sense. We find that common sense tends to work for everybody without much need for formal theory

And that invariably establishes the principles for a good design that solves real world problems robustly and which won't need a fighter pilot with a rocket scientist in the back to drive it. That's our job - devastatingly simple isn't it?

A simple approach

We believe in transparent simplicity and if we really do need to produce entity relationship diagrams we'll not worry our clients with them unless they ask. After all, it's our job to take care of all that stuff and we'll always try and do it without technobabble smokescreens. Actually, about the only time we do that data modeling and flow path thing is when something is just so complicated that breaking it down into a graphic diagram might really help us work out its systemic logic. But life's quite complicated enough without egghead notations.

At BabelFix we work together with our Clients to design systems to make their businesses run even better.

From a dispassionate outsider’s perspective, we examine the way a business works, seeking to capitalise on its strengths while identifying repetitive tasks for automation and planning a systemic infrastructure to avoid duplicated effort and enhance efficiency across every part of the organisation, integrating inter-departmental communications and giving shared access to common records.

An honest opinion

System designs may well include recommendations for the creation of bespoke tools to enable and empower both individuals and divisions within the organisation. BabelFix may also recommend using something straight off the shelf - we won’t hesitate to say so if a tailored solution won’t fit any better than a commercial one or we don’t believe it will be cost effective.

Our objective is to utilise the very most efficient combination of base software, hardware and customised or bespoke elements to enable the execution of considered procedural planning.

A clear goal

Businesses invariably find that by properly harnessing the power of the right technologies the investment quickly pays for itself, allowing their workforce to concentrate on what people do best by eliminating unnecessary tasks and minimising the mundane ones.

This invariably leads to happier staff and significantly higher productivity.

Whether the same workforce achieves more or the same work can be achieved by fewer staff, the inevitable and attractive result is greater profitability.
